I've stopped buying candy. 8 years, 2 trick or treaters. If they don't know you well they won't come over anymore. All my friends with kids, who walk, are at driving distance only.
Still, I made some nut brittle.. it crystallized. Bad night all round
OK, I've got an idea. You come to my house for Halloween, and get to see the scores of children in my neighborhood, dressed up and cute. I come to your house for Thanksgiving, and get to enjoy a meal where people actually talk to each other instead of at the football game on telelvision.
I was in NYC for the day, and I thought it was really cool that kids went to the shops to go trick or treating. Though I was a bit bummed that at "Murray's" they gave out Reese's Peanut Butter cups instead of "Stinking Bishop" cups.
